The photo above was taken on the lawns in front of The State Library of Victoria in September 1974. It was shot during a holiday on the way home from Mt Kosciuszko (and here). It was about the same time i got my first kit, the blue Tempo
The photo below is from a trip with Andrea to Melbourne in February 2012, 37 years later taken in exactly the same spot.
I had the original photo with me, and it was great to work out where it was initially taken. (On tour to Melbourne with the Primitive Painters in 1991 i though it might have been in front of a building at the Melbourne Uni.) This happened on a 38 degree day while travelling east on a tram down Latrobe St, at the intersection with Swanston St when i spotted the columns.

It is so good to finally get that AHA cover band together. It can be so dangerous in the moshpit at an AHA gig. See devastation on the right

"Ziggy" the founder of the Polish Youth Orchestra
Chris was a great guy who i looked forward to seeing each fortnight at the DB Office in Hindley St. We were both delivery drivers for the magazine. We also worked together at the Big Day Out. I took over his south run into the hills delivering the DB Magazine, and still do it today 10 years later.
I will be playing the benefit concert mentioned below the picture of Chris ( on the left ) with The Chris Finnen Band on Sunday 16th September at The Gov (www.ruokday.com.au)
