Alexei Leonov, the first human to walk in space (and here) on March 18 1965, was presented with the band's CD Columbus of the Cosmos at The Australian Embassy in Moscow in December 2010 (see article further down)

Performing at the St Peter's fair 2004 in the park next to 3D Radio
New Years Eve 2004. It always helps to have a good bottom end.
I enjoyed playing "i still haven't found what i'm looking for " past one of the local churches. This version was filmed in the front bar of The Grace Emily Feb 2008
Here's a weird crossover. Tony Irvine used to live at Aroona Rd Croydon with Rodney and Dave from The Primitive Painters and had a synth band called The Psychotronix who also used to jam at the house. I remember being introduced to Patrizia who was the singer. She went on to marry Mike Rann and be known as Sasha. How did that happen? click here.
2007
Captain Carbunkle and The Cosmonaughts! I hung around to watch The Basics who had Wouter (Wally) De Backer on drums. What a great band. We had a long chat after the gig about his sound sampling for his solo project Gotye for which he, as a singer songwriter, won the Aria Award for Best Male Artist in the year of this gig, 2007. He also won this award in 2011 as well 5 others including one for the single "somebody that i used to know." The awards continue with a 3 Grammy awards in 2013 presented by Prince. This gig had a good mix of bands. The Satellites were good as usual, as were Slingshot Dragster.

Tom whistling great gig in the sky on 12.4 2010 at the Columbus of the cosmos CD Launch. This gig occured 2 days after the Smolensk air crash where all 96 Polish passengers on board where killed while travelling to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre. My mother's uncle was in this massacre. More info here
Guess who's drinking again !
I feel alright
Alexei Leonov unfortunately failed in his ambition to catch The Lonely Cosmonauts perform in Moscow but did receive a copy of this album (see below for the article in SA Life magazine) to make up for it. The CD bed tracks were recorded on the 27th and 28th of April 2010 with extra percussion added on Voskhod 2 on 27th May 2010.

Such a good feeling to be honouring Miroslaw Hermaszewski's legacy and here at my "Little Sparrow" tribute

Lucky for Phil he didn't turn up to this photo shoot. We should have spent more time like we did for the one below. The wall behind the band looks great though. That's a 1966 Ludwig Burgundy Sparkle Jazz Festival Snare and here for Ludwig display and colour finishes
One of the attempts to get sponsorship to Moscow was to record a song for Cooper's Ale
What a great looking band. Many hours were spent to get just the right shot for this important magazine at the Semaphore Workers Club on 2.9.2011
The above article documents Michael's "trip" to Moscow for the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's historic flight as the first human in space
Even Colonel Garan Jr, the US astronaut who visited the International Space Station in April 2011 with two Russian Cosmonauts to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Gagarin journey, heard the CD
It was good talking to Ben from The Woohoo Revue about vintage drums
Be careful when riding your bike
Below is The wheatsheaf gig on 8.7.2011
A real treat to play acoustically in the garden for Dingo's housing co-op halloween party on 5.11.2011. Hey isn't that
Guy Fawkes Day as well ? Let the Fireworks explode.

What a great night with a tasty bbq and salads cooked by Tom Moore. Jane Reilly, the weather presenter, dressed in a green wig, seemed to be enjoying the Lonely Cosmonauts warning me not to eat the Blue Pony badges in the bowl as they were not lollies. Thanks Jane.
The concert band played some well known tunes and Mario, Sav and Jack from Travi's band proved to be a class act. They should have played "Ride your Pony" by Lee Dorsey. Thanks for retrieving my bass drum pedal Mario. It's such a bad feeling when you think you have lost something like your bass drum pedal, as it's such an important part of your kit that you can't afford to lose.

Photos for the Parks Alive weekend gig in Heywood Park for the Unley Council on Sunday 1 April 2012. Picture Dean Martin.
This time Don couldn't make the photo shoot. Last time it was Phil. Who's next? Eventually there will be a shoot where nobody turns up. We could print a photo with no one in it. Very Lonely for the Cosmonauts.

Nice place for a gig at the Magill Club (Uren St Magill) on 5.5.2012. Let's hope the music takes off again. Great all you can eat BBQ on Friday nights
Always a great gig at The Wheaty
Really good to play a gig at The Gov with The Steve Brown Band. Thanks for letting me use your kit Jeff. I must get that photo of my bass drum in the dressing room shower recess
